Shade Cloak

Conjuration [Force]
Level: Sor/Wiz 4
Components: S
Casting Time: 1 action
Target: Creature Touched
Duration 1 minute/level
Saving thrown: Will Negates (harmless)
Spell Resistance: Yes (Harmless)

From the surrounding shadows you take shadowstuff with which you wrap the subject in. This means that there must be an area of shadows around you to do this. This has the effect of giving for the spell's duration a + 4 armor bonus, a +4 bonus to fortitude and reflex saves, and +4 bonus (does not stack with bonuses other than skill and Dexterity related) to Hide that comes from the fact that the subject of the spell is surrounded by an almost fog like substance. This is in effect the same as the spell Mage Armor in that it is a force effect and does not entail arcane spell failure and uses a force effect. The visual effect of this spell, to those who are unfamiliar, can be quite disconcerting, as it is almost as if the caster has wrapped the subject in shadowstuff. There appears a foggy black outline around the subject of the spell that blurs the actual figure of the subject. This incurs the 50% miss chance on physical ranged and melee attacks.

Since this spell does use shadowstuff, when the subjects enters an area of a Daylight spell equivalent or stronger, the caster of the Daylight spell must make a caster level as per dispel magic. If they check is made, Shade cloak is dispelled, if it is failed, the check may be repeated again every round the subject remains in the daylight spell radius. A Light spell or its equivalent is not powerful enough to dispel this effect.

Shadow Bind

Level Sor/Wiz 5
Components: S
Casting Time: 1 action
Target: Up to 1 Huge or 2 Large or 4 Medium or 8 creatures of Small size or less
Range: Short 25 ft. + 2 ft/lvl
Duration: 1 round / Level
Saving Throw: Will (See text)
Spell Resistance: Yes

Creatures failing an initial saving throw find themselves bound to the very spot they stand in by their own shadow as it wraps tightly around them. The shadow wraps around them and freezes them in place, preventing movement and spell casting. The subjects can use mental abilities, such as cast spells with no verbal, somatic, or material components, (if the caster has Still Spell and Silent Spell feats, he may be able to cast a spell) but can perform no other actions and are considered helpless.
Speech is somewhat possible, though it is very muffled, making casting spells with a verbal component difficult (50% Arcane Spell Failure chance). The subjects so bound may not attempt a Strength check to free themselves and are considered helpless, though any external physical, energy, or force effect will dispel the bind on the subject.

Subjects who made the initial saving throw may then attempt a Strength check vs. DC 10 + caster level of the Shadow Bind caster to free their feet. If they pass this check, they may move normally and are not subject to the spell's effects for the rest of its duration. If they fail their check, their feet are held in place (usually bound to the floor) for the spell's duration, although they may move their arms with any reasonable bending, twisting. Such characters lose any dodge (Dex) bonus to AC and Reflex saves. The subjects with bound feet may attempt a Strength check to free themselves each round though any external physical, energy, or force effect will dispel the bind on the subject.

Note: For each creature the caster attempts to affect beyond the first, add +2 cumulative bonus to the saving throws of ALL the targets.
